Hillary Clinton Protested At Alma Mater

Former Secretary of State and former First Lady Hillary Clinton was met with student protests when she paid a visit to her alma mater, Wellesley College, on Saturday.

Clinton returned to the campus for a women-led democracy summit and to acknowledge the honor of a building being named after her as the Hillary Rodham Clinton Center for Citizenship, Leadership, and Democracy.

According to local news outlets, angry pro-Palestine students not only voiced their displeasure with Clinton alongside other attendees but also circulated pamphlets around campus slamming her.

In the pamphlets, which highlighted the argument that Clinton has “blood on her hands,” she was referred to as Wellesley’s “most beloved war criminal.”

The protest was acknowledged by school administrators, which urged caution without condemning the demonstration.

In a statement, vice president and dean of students Sheilah Shaw Horton said, “I encourage all who participate in activism to follow the demonstration policy and be mindful of our Code of Student Conduct so that you remain safe for yourself, and for our community.”

While the summit went on, protestors also interrupted Clinton, with one accusing her of being indifferent to violence against Palestinians.

In response, she said, “We’re having a discussion. I’m perfectly happy to meet you after this event and talk with you,” after which the protester was escorted out of the hall.

Just a few days before the protest, Clinton rebuked U.S. voters who are concerned about the 2024 presidential election being down to former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden.

“Get over yourself. Those are the two choices,” she said during an appearance on the “Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon.

Highlighting her perceived comparison of Trump and Biden, she stated, “One is old, and effective, and compassionate, has a heart and really cares about people. And one is old and has been charged with 91 felonies.”

For the failed presidential candidate, it’s an easy choice, as she continued, “I don’t understand why this is even a hard choice, really. I don’t understand it.”

“But we have to go through the election and hopefully people will realize what’s at stake because it’s an existential question. What kind of country we’re gonna have, what kind of democracy we can have and people who blow that off are not paying attention because it’s not like Trump, his enablers, his empowerers, his allies are not telling us what they want to do. I mean, they’re pretty clear about what kind of country they want,” she added.
