A pastor of a church in a Tennessee community had to wake up to a trailer of Holy Bibles burnt in front of his church on Easter Sunday.

The Mount Juliet Police Department and Fire Department swiftly responded to an intersection outside the Global Vision Church at about 6 a.m. on Sunday. Upon their arrival, they found that someone had dropped a trailer full of Bibles in the middle of the intersection and set it on fire, blocking the entrance to the church.
According to Pastor Greg Locke, the church’s security cameras shows a man dropping off the trailer and then setting it on fire.
In a post to Facebook, Locke stated, “There was a lady that had driven through the night to get to our church, and she was in the parking lot and was able to get the police officers here quickly, but it was quite the scene to wake up to on my first morning back from Israel.”
“It was strange because he [the suspect] had his blinkers on and he scotched the wheels and everything. He was very meticulous, so he had to be very courageous to do what he did. We’ve had people do things to our building, we’ve been vandalized a number of times, hence why we have to have security, but never 200 Bibles being burned,” he added.
Locke also shared photos of the burnt bibles in his post, adding photos of the fire trucks and police vehicles that attended to the incident.
Authorities are investigating the incident, as the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office also said in a statement that they believe the trailer was set ablaze on purpose. The office, however, does not know if the fire was intended to affect the church or not.
“To uphold the integrity of the ongoing investigation, other specific details cannot be provided at this time. However, we assure the community that further updates will be shared at the appropriate juncture,” the office wrote in its statement.
Despite the unsettling incident, the church went on to hold its Easter services without interruption, true to Locke’s words: It’s going to be a great day in the Lord.”
