Despite his dwindling support among some demographics and concerts among voters about his cognitive ability, President Joe Biden’s campaign is confident he can flip solidly red Florida into blue.

Biden campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez said in a memo this week that Biden can win a victory in the state over former President Donald Trump, who is facing multiple legal cases and massive financial penalties.
“Make no mistake: Florida is not an easy state to win, but it is a winnable one for President Biden, especially given Trump’s weak, cash-strapped campaign, and serious vulnerabilities within his coalition,” Rodriguez wrote.
Claiming that “a state where President Biden has a compelling story of results,” Rodriguez added that “Trump and Rick Scott’s extreme agenda is making Floridians’ lives worse, and the Democratic coalition is growing and energized.”
Rodriguez also said Trump’s last-standing GOP rival, Nikki Haley, still got 155,000 votes in Florida’s Republican Primary last month even though she had suspended her campaign.
“Similar to other states, including those with exit polls, we fully expect that many of those voters will not vote for Trump and are winnable for President Biden this November,” he said.
“Make no mistake: Florida is not an easy state to win, but it is a winnable one for President Biden, especially given Trump’s weak, cash-strapped campaign, and serious vulnerabilities within his coalition,” he added.
The Biden team’s hopes of flipping Florida might be bleak as the state has been a solid Republican stronghold in recent years. It does, however, have a history of flipping between the two parties. Hence, that feat is not entirely impossible.
Trump has a history of victory in the state. In the 2016 election, he scored a victory with 49% votes compared to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s 48%. He also won the state in his 2020 election against Biden with 51% of the votes while Biden got 48%.
