After dropping his presidential campaign on Monday, biotech executive Vivek Ramaswamy is urging the remaining major GOP presidential candidates to drop out and back former President Donald Trump’s candidacy. According to him, there is no need to move ahead with the primaries after the former president’s landslide victory in the Iowa caucuses on Monday night that saw him cart away 51% of around 90% of the votes.

Speaking during an interview with Fox News’ Jesse Watters on Tuesday, Ramaswamy suggested that a decision by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley to quit their campaigns would do the country good.
“I think Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley would actually, at this point, do this country and this party a service by stepping aside to make sure that we’re focused on not only nominating Donald Trump but getting this country back and reviving those founding revolutionary ideals,” he stated.
“[GOP voters] sent a positive message to all of us that Donald Trump needs to be the nominee of this party, and I think Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley would actually at this point do this country and this party a service by stepping aside,” he added.
The political newcomer called on DeSantis, saying that he “will have an important role to play in the future of this country and leading this nation.”
He went on to point to his decision to quit the presidential race the night of Trump’s win. According to him, Trump’s win was a clear message from Republicans voters that he is the right candidate that can restore the country’s balance.
“And for my part, I did run in this race. I started at 0%. I finished around 8% in the Iowa caucus yesterday. But We the People of this country apparently sent a clear message,” he said.
When Ramaswamy announced his decision to quit his campaign, he told his supporters that he would be joining Trump on the campaign trail in New Hampshire ahead of the state’s primary next week.
That seems to be going well as the GOP frontrunner’s rally in Atkinson on Tuesday reportedly had several Trump supporters chanting, “Veep!” while Ramaswamy expressed his support for his former GOP rival.
After Ramaswamy’s remarks, Trump said, “Wow! How was that? Pretty good, right? He’s a fantastic guy. He’s got something that’s very special because he started off with a zippo and he ended up very strong. He did a great job. I was actually surprised when he called because he was doing well. And it’s an honor to have his endorsement.”
Trump then added that Ramaswamy is going to be “working with us and he’ll be working with us for a long time,” a comment that had the crowd cheer loudly.
