Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have completed another step in their real estate transition, successfully selling their Montecito beach bungalow. The coastal property, which the couple acquired in 2020 for $2.9 million, exceeded expectations by selling for $5.2 million, surpassing its initial listing price of $4.995 million after just ten days on the market.
The 1954-built residence, which underwent renovations in 2012, spans 1,691 square feet and features two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Situated near Butterfly Beach, the contemporary dwelling boasts numerous attractive features, including private outdoor spaces, meticulously maintained gardens, and noise-reducing fencing.

This sale marks one of the couple’s final property transactions in the United States, following their decision to relocate to the United Kingdom after the November 2024 presidential election. The pair have established themselves in England’s Cotswolds region, where DeGeneres has been spotted sporting a new, more natural hairstyle at local establishments like the Farmer’s Dog pub.
When concerns arose about potential flooding at their UK property, DeGeneres took to Instagram to address the speculation, stating, “For those of you concerned, our UK farmhouse did NOT flood.” The post coincided with a celebration of her relationship with de Rossi, as she shared, “20 years ago today we began this relationship not realizing what a long beautiful adventure this would be. You are the best thing that ever happened in my life.”
