President Joe Biden refused to take questions from reporters during a press briefing on Tuesday.
As he approached the podium to begin the presser, he said, “I’m not going to be taking any questions, but I’ll be taking questions tomorrow or the next day. But I don’t want anything to get in the way of this statement.”
Throughout the whole speech which went on for about eight minutes, Biden kept to the script as he spoke about the $95 billion foreign aid package which passed the Senate earlier that day. Urging House Republicans to pass the bill, he said that those opposing the bill are “playing into Putin’s hands.”
Biden also attacked former President Donald Trump before ending his speech with “God bless you all. May God protect our speaker. God bless you all. May God protect our speaker.”
The president’s decision to refuse questions comes after his damning press conference last week in which he lashed out at reporters and Special Counsel Robert Hur for releasing a report that questioned his mental fitness.

One of the reporters that were subjected to his rage was Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy who brought up voters’ concerns about his age and mental health.
“Something the special counsel said in his report is that one of the reasons you were not charged is because, in his description, you are a ‘well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,'” Doocy began to say when Biden cut him off to say, “I’m well-meaning, and I’m an elderly man and I know what the hell I’m doing. I’ve been president and I put this country back on its feet. I don’t need his recommendation —”
When Doocy did ask his question about how bad Biden’s memory is and if he can continue as president, Biden retorted, “My memory is so bad I let you speak.”
Biden also snapped at CNN correspondent MJ Lee when she told him many Americans “have been watching, and they have expressed concerns about your age.”
“That is your judgment! That is your judgment! That is not the judgment of the press,” Biden said.
He also pushed back at Hur’s report which said that he had forgotten simple details of important events in his life.
In his words, “I’ve seen the headlines since the report was released about my willful retention of documents. These assertions are not only just misleading, they’re just plain wrong. In addition, I know there’s some attention paid to the language in the report about my recollection of events. There’s even some reference that I don’t remember when my son died. How the hell dare he raise that?”
