Biden Makes Age Question About Trump

During a conversation with Seth Meyers on “Late Night” on Monday, President Joe Biden was asked about his age but his concern was more on former President Donald Trump.

Meyer brought up Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report on Biden’s handling of classified documents, pointing out that it “says you’re currently 81 years old.”

“According to recent polling, this is a real concern for American voters. How do you address that concern going forward as you come up to the 2024 election?” the host asked.

Instead of answering the question, Biden directed the attention away from himself to Trump, saying, “Well, a couple of things. Number one, you gotta take a look at the other guy. He’s about as old as I am but he can’t remember his wife’s name.”

“Number two, it’s about how old your ideas are. Look, this is a guy who wants to take us back. He wants to take us [back] on Roe v. Wade. He wants to take us back on a whole range of issues that are 50, 60 years they’ve been solid American positions.”

The 81-year-old president further spoke about the “good things” his administration has been able to achieve while trying to warn against another Trump presidency.

“And I really think his views on where to take America are older than – anyway, I don’t want to get going,” he added.

In his remarks, Biden passed up the opportunity to address voters’ concerns about his cognitive health which increased since Hur’s report highlighted failings in his memory by revealing he could not remember simple details of important events in his life while he was being interviewed by prosecutors.

Recommending that no charges be filed against him even though he was found , the jury said that a jury would see him as a “sympathetic, well-meaning elderly man with a poor memory.”

Since then, many including some Democrat strategists have said that he is not capable of serving another four years as president.

Biden himself also made things worse for himself after claiming to have seen and spoken with dead world leaders who had died in 2021, a gaffe he made by mixing up names. He also mixed up the presidents of Egypt and Mexico during an address on the Israel-Hamas war earlier this month.
