The specific reasons behind the student’s detention remain unclear. When reached for comment on Saturday, ICE officials did not immediately respond to inquiries from the Associated Press.
The university has confirmed they are actively supporting the detained student by providing legal assistance and additional support services. School officials emphasized that they were caught off guard by the detention, stating they had no prior knowledge of the action and did not provide any student information to federal authorities.
