Former President Donald Trump responded to Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris, stating it was “just a question of time” before the pop star sided with the Democratic Party.
In an interview on “Fox & Friends” Wednesday morning, Trump downplayed Swift’s decision, noting, “She couldn’t […] possibly endorse Biden. You look at Biden, you couldn’t possibly endorse him,” while making it clear he is “not a Taylor Swift fan.”
The former president continued to express his views on Swift’s political stance, saying, “But she’s a very liberal person. She seems to always endorse a Democrat. And she’ll probably pay a price for it […] in the marketplace.”
This comes after Swift’s announcement on Instagram shortly after the Democratic presidential debate, where she declared her support for Harris. “I’ve made my choice,” she wrote, adding that she will vote for Harris because “she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.”
Trump, during his appearance on “Fox & Friends,” also made a point of praising Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. “I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better,” Trump remarked, adding, “She’s a big Trump fan.”
Brittany Mahomes first showed her support for Trump on August 13 by liking an Instagram post in which Trump outlined the “2024 GOP platform.” Following criticism, Mahomes defended herself on her Instagram Stories, writing, “To be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep-rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood.”
Swift and Brittany Mahomes were recently seen together at the U.S. Open in New York, where they shared a warm embrace, sparking conversation amid the ongoing controversy surrounding Swift’s endorsement of Harris.
