A fierce post-game altercation erupted between Ohio State and Michigan players following the Wolverines’ narrow 13-10 victory over their arch-rivals, marring what had been an intense collegiate matchup.

The situation escalated rapidly when Michigan players attempted to plant their flag at the stadium’s midfield, drawing immediate and aggressive opposition from Ohio State team members.

The incident began during Mason Graham’s live post-game interview with CBS Sports, as his Michigan teammates approached midfield carrying their university flag to celebrate their triumph.

The Buckeyes’ players, responding with visible anger to the celebratory gesture, rushed to prevent the flag-planting ceremony, sparking an initial confrontation between the teams.

Just as the situation seemed to calm, Ohio State’s Jack Sawyer escalated tensions by rushing forward and forcefully removing the flag from its pole, triggering a second wave of altercations.

The ensuing chaos required intervention from multiple parties, including coaches, security teams, and law enforcement officers, who reportedly deployed pepper spray to control the situation, affecting several Michigan players and a photographer.

Michigan running back Kalel Mullings condemned the incident, stating, “For such a great game, you hate to see stuff like that after the game. Just bad for the sport, bad for college football. But at the end of the day, some people got to learn how to lose, man. Can’t be fighting and stuff just because you lost a game. All that fighting, we have 60 minutes, we have four quarters to do all that fighting and now you want to talk and fight. That’s wrong. It’s just bad for the game. Classless, in my opinion. People got to be better.”
