Recent social media posts have sparked controversy with claims about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy allegedly purchasing Hitler’s historic Eagle’s Nest residence. The viral posts suggest that a company linked to Zelenskyy acquired the notorious property, known as Kelsteinhaus.
One circulating post stated: “According to German media, Kelsteinhaus, also known as the Eagle’s Nest, was acquired by the offshore company San Tommaso, owned by the President of Ukraine. The deal was completed at the end of December, and the building was purchased for €14.2 million euros. The Kelsteinhaus, located in the mountains of Bavaria, was a gift to Adolf Hitler on his 50th birthday. The building was hardly damaged during the Second World War and was later converted into a museum and a restaurant. It remains unknown how Zelensky is going to use Hitler’s former dacha.”

However, these allegations have been thoroughly discredited. A comprehensive search of media coverage reveals no legitimate reports of such a transaction. More significantly, the Free State of Bavaria has officially denounced these claims as fabricated.
The Bavarian authorities issued an unequivocal statement: “The Kehlsteinhaus is still owned by the Free State of Bavaria. A sale has not taken place and is not planned. The alleged purchase contract shown in the video is a fake, as is the alleged quote from the IMBY management. The Kehlsteinhaus will resume its regular seasonal operations in May 2025. IMBY will take legal action against the authors of this misinformation.”
Fact-checking organization Lead Stories has also conducted an investigation, confirming that these claims are unfounded.
