Former President Donald Trump pulled a crowd at his rally in the Bronx on Thursday so much that CNN National Correspondent Kristen Holmes said on that day’s broadcast of “AC360” that the crowd was bigger “than I think Democrats would like to see.”
Asked what the energy at the event was like, Holmes responded, “Certainly a bigger crowd than I think Democrats would like to see, particularly given this is one of the bluest counties in the entire country.”
“I wasn’t sure what to expect,” she added.
According to her, she spoke to a number of people at the rally who said they voted for President Joe Biden in the 2020 election but are now looking to Trump as a better option amid frustrations over the economy.
She also said that “there were a lot of people” at the rally “that were actually from the Bronx” even though she noted that Trump rallies usually get a lot of people who traveled to the area the rally is held.
In her words: “I’ve gone to a lot of these rallies across the country, and there are often people who travel hundreds of miles to see Donald Trump and they’re not necessarily part of the community. However, one of the things that I found was that there were a lot of people here that were actually from the Bronx.”
Even CNN is admitting President Trump's rally in the Bronx was a massive success:

“Before we even came into the rally…we talked to a number of people outside in the community and the reaction…was really mixed,” Holmes continued.
“You had people saying he doesn’t belong here. But you also had a number of voters who told me that they had supported Biden in 2020. They were very unhappy, particularly with the state of the economy and they were looking for alternatives, namely former President Donald Trump,” she added.
At the rally held at Crotona Park in the Bronx, Trump rallied an estimated 25,000 supporters, beating the initial expectations of 3,500 people even though it initially seemed like the event might be disrupted by bad weather. Trump acknowledged the massive turnout in his speech, calling the event a “love fest.”
