The official cause and manner of death for Thomas Matthew Crooks, the man who tried to assassinate former President Trump, has been revealed.
The Butler County Coroner’s Office told Fox News Digital on Saturday that Crooks died from a gunshot wound to the head and his death has been ruled a homicide.
Following the shooting at Trump’s recent rally, the shooter was soon after “neutralized” 26 seconds later.
Crooks resided in Bethel Park, but a post-mortem examination was carried out at the coroner’s office in Allegheny County. However, it is not clear what happened to the body of Crooks after the examination.
According to students who say they knew the 20-year-old shooter, a picture is beginning to form of his demeanor – which investigators have not yet been able to confirm.
Footage of the Bethel Park High School 2022 graduation on YouTube shows that virtually no one clapped when Crooks was handed his diploma.
Multiple peers describe Crooks as a quiet loner.
Julianna Grooms, who is one year ahead of Crooks and spoke to The Wall Street Journal said, “people would say he was the student who would shoot up the school.”
However, another classmate who rode the school bus with Crooks and whose sister was close with him told Fox News Digital that peers have been spreading misinformation about him.
“He didn’t talk a lot, but when he was talked to, he would make good conversation,” the former Bethel Park High School student, who graduated a year behind Crooks, said Friday night. “He was easy to talk to. He would make good conversation. He was very chill, very humble.
FBI investigators are still working to put together a complete picture of the shooter and how exactly he was able to carry out his plan.
