White House Says Embarrassing Biden Clips Are ‘Cheap Fakes’

The White House is dismissing viral videos of President Joe Biden that show him looking confused or frail as “cheap fakes.”

Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre attempted to discredit the videos during a White House press briefing on Monday.

“I think you all have called this the cheap fakes video, and that’s exactly what they are. They are cheap fakes video,” she said.

Claiming that the videos are made “in bad faith,” Jean-Pierre continued, “And some of your news organizations have, have been very clear, have stressed that these right-wing, the right-wing critics of the president have a credibility problem because of the fact-checkers have repeatedly caught them pushing misinformation, disinformation.”

“And so we see this, and this is something coming from your part of the world, calling them cheap fakes and misinformation,” she added.

One of the clips Jean-Pierre addressed was a viral one over the weekend that showed former President Barack Obama leading Biden off the stage at a fundraiser in Los Angeles on Saturday night.

As seen in the video, Obama was waving to the audience at the event packed with Hollywood celebrities while Biden faced them with his hands clenched. He had only turned to leave the stage when Obama took his hand.

While the video was widely seen as another proof of Biden’s cognitive decline, Jean-Pierre said that it was a display of how Biden and Obama “are friends.”

Another recent video Jean-Pierre addressed was one from a G-7 meeting in which Biden could be seen wandering away from other leaders amid a photo op. It took Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni going to get him and signaling to him for him to return to the group and face the direction others faced.

In another awkward moment in Normandy, France, during the 80th anniversary of the D-Day invasion, Biden seemed to be confused about whether he was meant to remain standing or sitting down as he stood alongside his wife Jill Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron.

Jean-Pierre dismissed the clip from Normandy and the one in which Melony stepped in as “cheap fakes” made to “attack the president for thanking troops.”
