Rep. Elise Stefanik didn’t mince words when she called out Vice President Kamala Harris for criticizing pro-life Christian students during a recent campaign rally in Wisconsin. Speaking to Newsmax, the New York Republican didn’t hold back in her criticism of the VP’s behavior.

Stefanik argued that Harris’s actions were not just inappropriate but also revealing of a deeper issue. She pointed out that the Vice President’s criticism of these students’ deeply held beliefs was particularly troubling, given her role as a national leader.

“It’s downright disgraceful,” Stefanik said. “This isn’t just a slip of the tongue; it’s a window into how the Biden-Harris administration views people of faith, especially those who stand up for the unborn.”

The congresswoman went on to suggest that this incident is part of a broader pattern of disrespect towards religious Americans from the current administration. She emphasized that such behavior is unbecoming of someone in Harris’s position and could alienate a significant portion of the electorate.

Stefanik also touched on the potential political ramifications of the Vice President’s actions. She speculated that this kind of rhetoric might backfire, driving more faith-based voters away from the Democratic party.

“You’ve got to wonder what they’re thinking,” Stefanik mused. “Are they so out of touch that they don’t realize how this plays in Middle America?”

The representative called for an apology from Harris, though she expressed doubt that one would be forthcoming. Stefanik suggested that this incident could become a rallying point for conservative voters in the upcoming election.

As the conversation wrapped up, Stefanik reiterated her disappointment in the Vice President’s conduct. She stressed the importance of respecting diverse viewpoints in a pluralistic society, even – or perhaps especially – when those views differ from one’s own.

“At the end of the day, we’re all Americans,” Stefanik concluded. “We might not agree on everything, but criticizing someone’s faith? That’s crossing a line, and the American people deserve better from their leaders.”
