Border Czar Tom Homan has issued a stark warning to Mexican drug cartels, declaring the United States’ intention to completely eliminate these criminal organizations.

This aggressive stance comes in the wake of a recent violent encounter between U.S. Border Patrol agents and suspected cartel members, which occurred during border surveillance operations.

The dangerous confrontation unfolded on Monday near Fronton, Texas, where Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) personnel and Border Patrol agents found themselves in an intense exchange of gunfire with alleged cartel operatives.

Lt. Chris Olivarez from Texas DPS reported that the incident began during a routine patrol along the Rio Grande. The situation quickly escalated when agents came under attack, forcing them to seek cover in the riverside vegetation while returning fire.

During the firefight, a group of undocumented immigrants attempted to cross the river. Fortunately, the exchange ended without any injuries to law enforcement or the suspected cartel members.

“It’s going to get worse Sean, because President Trump is going to seal that border. He’s going to put the cartels out of business. He declared them a terrorist organization,” Homan stated in an interview with Sean Hannity.

This escalation follows Trump’s recent executive action classifying these organizations as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs) and Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGTs). The order targets major criminal groups including the Sinaloa Cartel, Jalisco New Generation Cartel, MS-13, and Venezuela’s Tren de Aragua.

“We got the whole of government is going to dismantle these people and wipe them off the face of the earth. They are not going to go lightly,” Homan explained.

“We are taking them on in the trafficking business, we’re taking them on in the smuggling business and we’re taking them on in the dope business.”

“There’s going to be more violence on the southwest border, that’s why trump committed to calling them a terrorist organization. He has.”

Homan elaborated on the comprehensive nature of the planned response, stating, “That’s why the entire United States government is going to take care of those people and abolish them. We’re going to attack them not just in Mexico, but in the 42 countries the Jalisco Cartel is currently residing in.”

“The Trump administration is going to take them on, just like he did the Caliphate, and we’re going to destroy them.”

The situation at the border continues to intensify as these new measures take effect.
