Donald Trump Jr. lashed out at anonymous Republican senators who criticized JD Vance’s private comments about U.S. military strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen, labeling them as “genuine pussies” in comments to Jewish Insider.
The controversy emerged after The Atlantic’s Editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg revealed he had inadvertently been added to a Signal group chat where Vance expressed reservations about the military action. In the chat, Vance voiced concerns about potential inconsistencies with the president’s European messaging and possible economic implications.

“I am not sure the president is aware how inconsistent this is with his message on Europe right now,” Vance wrote in the Signal group chat, according to Goldberg. “There’s a further risk that we see a moderate to severe spike in oil prices. I am willing to support the consensus of the team and keep these concerns to myself. But there is a strong argument for delaying this a month, doing the messaging work on why this matters, seeing where the economy is, etc.”
The revelation prompted anonymous criticism from GOP senators, with one telling Jewish Insider they found Vance’s threat assessment regarding the Houthis “very disappointing.” Another unnamed senator expressed concern about Vance’s foreign policy stance, suggesting it might perplex European allies.

Trump Jr. responded forcefully to these anonymous critics, defending Vance while condemning the senators’ unwillingness to attach their names to their criticism. “These seven cowardly neocons attacking J.D. anonymously are genuine pussies. If they really feel this way, then they should at least be man enough to put their names to these quotes,” Trump Jr. told JI. “The fact that they are too cowardly to do that is exactly why I’m so happy that these RINOs are a dying breed in our party – whether they realize it or not.”
An insider familiar with the situation suggested to the Daily Caller News Foundation that Senate neoconservatives had attempted to shop the story to multiple outlets, with Jewish Insider being the only publication willing to run the criticisms.
