Trump And Biden In Virtual Dead Heat, Survey Shows

A recent survey from the Economist/YouGov shows former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden in a virtual tie. This fresh poll is stirring excitement among pro-Trump circles, as it shows the enduring appeal of Trump even after his time in office.

The survey, conducted from August 12 to 15, 2023, among 1,500 U.S. adult citizens, took the pulse of the nation’s sentiment. When asked who they would choose in a head-to-head match, Trump came out ahead by a mere one-point lead. Among all respondents, Trump gathered 39% of the support, while Biden trailed closely at 38%

However, when it comes to registered voters, Biden clinched the lead with 43% compared to Trump’s 42%.

Interestingly, the survey reveals Trump’s firm hold on the hearts of independents. A significant 32% of independents leaned towards Trump, whereas only 25% leaned towards Biden. The survey also found that 11% of independents remain undecided, showing that Trump’s message continues to resonate with a diverse array of voters.

The survey inquired about respondents’ predictions for the next presidential election, and the results were just as thrilling. A dead heat ensued, with 38% of respondents favoring Biden and 37% placing their bets on Trump. The remaining quarter remained unsure, indicating a degree of unpredictability that lies ahead.

Upon dissecting the numbers further, among registered voters, Biden’s lead expanded to 42% believing in his victory, while 38% expressed confidence in Trump. Among independents, Trump managed to hold a staggering eight-point lead.

Recent polls, like the NPR/Marist College survey, are adding to the mounting evidence that Trump is not only the Republican frontrunner but a formidable opponent against Biden. Even as he is faced with multiple indictments, some in connection to the 2020 election, he has consistently topped Republican polls, leaving his closest rival Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, trailing far behind.

Sunday brought yet another twist in this engaging narrative as Trump declared on his Truth Social account that he would most certainly be skipping the debates. This announcement comes on the heels of a CBS poll that positioned him a remarkable 46 points ahead of DeSantis.

In his statement, Trump cited his accomplishments during his presidency, including Energy Independence, Strong Borders & Military, historic Tax & Regulation Cuts, and a booming economy. “The public knows who I am & what a successful Presidency I had,” he asserted, maintaining confidence in his standing and his ability to connect directly with the people.
