A TikTok creator recently expressed frustration over being featured in Oprah Winfrey’s town hall interview with Vice President Kamala Harris without her permission, and made it clear that she does not support Harris for president.
“So I got my four seconds of fame on The Oprah Winfrey Show, and of all people to be her guest, let me show you who it was,” a TikTok creator behind the account Blaire_Allison said in a video posted Saturday.
Allison’s video had been used during Winfrey’s interview with Harris, which aired on Thursday, as part of a segment showing the challenges average Americans face due to rising living costs. The clip was originally posted by Allison in November 2023, in which she commented, “I don’t understand how people are affording life right now.”
“To my Americans: Let me make something perfectly clear, OK? I do not support Harris for president,” she said, mocking and imitating Harris’ often roundabout way of speaking. “OK? I want to be unburdened by who has been in the White House the last three and a half years. OK? As I stand here today, on this stage, standing on this stage today, the day after yesterday, I just want you to know, OK, how I stand and how I stand today is that I do not support Harris for president.”
The TikTok quickly gained attention, racking up over 2 million views on X and more than 100,000 views on the original TikTok as of Sunday morning.
In a follow-up TikTok, Allison revealed that Winfrey’s team had not asked for her consent to use the video, explaining she “had no clue that clip would be shared while she interviewed Kamala Harris.” She further reiterated her stance, saying, “I have made it very clear that I don’t support Kamala Harris, at all.”
In an email to Fox News Digital, Allison elaborated on her disappointment, stating, “I was disappointed that such a well-known talk show like Oprah Winfrey’s didn’t notify me they were using my clip. I didn’t have the chance to see the footage until people from my community reached out to me.”
Allison’s original video, shared in November 2023, had focused on the impact of the rising cost of living on individuals earning average salaries, including teachers and minimum wage workers. “How are people affording life right now? How are people tackling this cost of living on the average American salary?” she asked.
Social media users praised her response to being featured in the town hall, with some describing her rebuttal to Harris as “hysterical” and celebrating how she “savages” the vice president.
Harris’s interview with Winfrey was part of the “Unite for America Rally,” a livestream event featuring several celebrities and personal stories from citizens across the country. Since announcing her candidacy for president after President Biden’s withdrawal from the race in July, Harris has largely avoided press conferences. As of Sunday, it had been 63 days since she held an official press event.
