Secret Service ALLOWED Assassin To Enter The Trump Rally With A Gun

The Secret Service was tipped about Thomas Michael Crooks 10 minutes before the former president Donald Trump ascended to the podium but allowed him to stay within the grounds, according to law enforcement sources cited by The Post.

In addition, a warning was sent to the agency a “character of suspicion” on the grounds was reported over an hour before the execution took place at Trump’s campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, sources disclosed.

Fox News was the first to break the news of these new facts revealed during a shock Senate briefing by the Secret Service on Wednesday.

“He was identified as a character of suspicion because [he had] a rangefinder as well as a backpack. And this was over an hour before the shooting actually occurred,” said Senator John Barrasso (R-WY).

“So, you would think over the course of that hour, you shouldn’t lose sight of the individual. Somebody ought to be following up on those sorts of things. No evidence of that happening at all.”

Barrasso reported that the highest-ranking Secret Service agent in control of security at the rally was talking to local police on the phone as the gunfire erupted. The Senator has since called on Secret Service chief Kimberly Cheatle to resign.

By the time the rally began, disaster was already in motion as a result of multiple serious decisions made at high levels. According to Cheatle, an agency source told her the agency had decided not to utilize the rooftop of the AGR International building as a sniper point.

Crooks launched his lethal rifle assault from the roof just a few moments later. The building from which Crooks opened fire was 130 yards away from Trump on the stage, and a Secret Service official said that the agency had been informed that the police department lacked sufficient staff to provide assistance.

The agency “was informed that the local police department did not have manpower to assist with securing that building,” Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger told the Washington Post.

The Secret Service official told the Washington Post that one way to secure the building was to place an officer outside. The building was not part of the rally’s security perimeter, which meant it was surrounded with officers on the day of the rally. Despite that, Crooks appeared to have no trouble climbing it and taking position with his father’s AR-style assault rifle.

Before the rally even began, the easily accessible counter-sniper building was left unguarded outside and on the roof. When the shooter arrived at the rally, the first thing that stood out to the agent on-duty was how he looked. Described as lanky and awkward, Crooks was visibly out of place.

Despite his appearance, he was still able to pass through the metal detector by the entrance gate. The metal detector went off because he brought a rangefinder – a type of scope used by hunters or golfers to determine distances. The security team allowed him through without confiscating the rangefinder.

A series of close calls, missed chances, and poor decisions by the Secret Service had culminated in the first assassination attempt on a former or current US president in 43 years.
