Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s Running Mate Says Working With Trump Is Possible In The Future

Nicole Shanahan — running mate for independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.— subtly implied that their campaign might consider bowing out in order to back Donald Trump if it meant keeping Harris from the presidency.

“We are taking a very serious look at making sure that the people that have corrupted our fair and free democracy do not end up in office,” she said on an episode of the “Impact Theory” podcast posted Tuesday.

“Is the risk of a Harris-Walz presidency worth us staying in?” she asked podcast host Tom Bilyeu.

Shanahan also addressed the concern that Kennedy Jr. may be perceived as a “spoiler candidate,” pointing out they had spent “tens of millions” on their campaign and believed they were going to become president, not just influence it from within.

But Shanahan said the Democratic National Committee (DNC) had undercut them. “They have banned us, shadow-banned us, kept us off stages, manipulated polls, used lawfare against us, sued us in every possible state, they’ve even planted insiders into our campaign to disrupt it and to create actual legal issues for us,” she said.

“There’s two options that we’re looking at and one is staying in, forming that new party, but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris and Walz presidency because we draw votes from Trump, we draw somehow more votes from Trump. Or we walk away right now and join forces with Donald Trump and, you know, we walk away from that and explain to our base why we’re making this decision,” she said.

“Not an easy decision,” Shanahan added.

The Washington Post reported earlier this month that Kennedy Jr. had contacted Harris aides about a post in the next Cabinet session, but no suitable position was available for him at his desired level on topics he wanted to handle.

Requests for comment from Fox News Digital to the Harris campaign were not returned at press time. And the Trump campaign made a nod to a recent interview in which former President Obama said Kennedy Jr. was, “a very smart guy.”
