The Heritage Foundation has initiated an advertising campaign backing Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s nomination as Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). The campaign, which was exclusively revealed to the Daily Caller News Foundation, depicts Kennedy as a courageous figure and highlights his commitment to improving American health and addressing chronic diseases.

Kennedy, who transitioned from being a Democratic presidential hopeful to an independent candidate in 2023, eventually withdrew from the race and endorsed Donald Trump’s presidential bid in August 2024.

“One word to describe Bobby Kennedy: fearless,” the video’s narrator says. “He was when he took on big corporations and big government. Now, he is ready to work with President Trump to take on special interests, reform a broken system, and make America healthy again.”

Trump announced Kennedy’s nomination for HHS leadership on November 14, expressing confidence in Kennedy’s ability to restore scientific excellence and transparency while combating chronic disease.

“Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s nomination as Secretary of Health and Human Services signals a bold step toward restoring trust, accountability, and integrity in our nation’s public health agencies,” Dr. Kevin Roberts, president of the Heritage Foundation, told the DCNF. “His commitment to ending corruption and addressing chronic disease resonates with millions of Americans who question why Big Pharma continues to grow richer while the health of Americans deteriorates. His vision to depoliticize science and medicine, paired with his dedication to protecting individual freedoms, lays the groundwork for a stronger, healthier future—but achieving this will require taking on entrenched interests. RFK Jr. has the backbone to see it through.”

The advertisement is part of a broader $1 million initiative launched by the Heritage Foundation to support Trump’s cabinet nominations and inform the public about confirmation procedures. Similar promotional efforts have been made for other cabinet nominees, including Pete Hegseth and Kash Patel.

Trump and Kennedy’s shared vision includes comprehensive reforms to America’s food system, regulatory oversight, and obesity prevention. This health-focused agenda comes at a time when public confidence in American healthcare has significantly declined over the past 24 years.

In addressing the nation’s healthcare challenges, Kennedy aims to tackle rising chronic diseases and escalating medical costs. Recent data shows that America’s healthcare spending reached unprecedented levels, with 2023 expenditures totaling $4.9 trillion, averaging approximately $14,570 per person.

Kennedy’s stance on various health issues includes skepticism toward COVID-19 vaccines and advocacy for investigating potential connections between childhood vaccinations and autism. He has also voiced concerns about fluoride levels in drinking water, describing it as harmful to neurological health.

Despite facing criticism from mainstream media and certain healthcare organizations, Kennedy’s supporters remain committed to his health reform agenda and his confirmation process.

“President Trump has given me three instructions,” Kennedy told NPR in November. “He wants the corruption and the conflicts out of the regulatory agencies. He wants to return the agencies to the gold standard empirically based, evidence-based science and medicine that they were once famous for. And he wants to end the chronic disease epidemic with measurable impacts on a diminishment of chronic disease within two years.”
