As America approaches its 250th anniversary in 2026, the words of Benjamin Franklin at the 1787 Constitutional Convention remain relevant: “The longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see that God governs in the affairs of men.”

Similarly, Ronald Reagan’s warning resonates: “If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under.”

The upcoming semiquincentennial celebration in 2026 presents an opportunity for national reflection and gratitude. This milestone, achieved through divine grace and mercy, demands careful planning and consideration of appropriate commemorative events.

A proposed centerpiece of these celebrations is a massive gathering in Washington, D.C., reminiscent of the “Stand In The Gap” event of October 4, 1997. During that historic assembly, over one million men prostrated themselves on the National Mall, seeking divine forgiveness and expressing gratitude for America’s blessings.

The 2026 gathering would address contemporary national challenges, including youth medical procedures, widespread moral and financial corruption, challenges to traditional family structures, abortion issues, and concerns about religious leadership focusing exclusively on divine love while neglecting teachings about justice.

Participants would gather to worship, acknowledge national transgressions, seek forgiveness, and express appreciation for divine favor while praying for continued blessings on America.

The proposal suggests organizing this gathering at the National Mall during the July 4, 2026 celebrations. Additionally, it recommends simultaneous events across all 50 states for those unable to travel to Washington, D.C., creating a nationwide demonstration of faith and recognition of divine providence.

These coordinated celebrations would serve as a collective acknowledgment of America’s reliance on divine guidance and blessing, marking quarter-millennium of national history with prayer and thanksgiving.
