President-elect Donald Trump addressed concerns about mysterious drone sightings along the East Coast during a press conference at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. He claimed that federal authorities are fully aware of the situation, including the drones’ origins and flight paths.
“Our military knows where they took off from,” Trump stated, emphasizing the military’s capability to neutralize any potential threats if necessary. “If it’s a garage, they can go right into that garage. They know where it came from and where it went, and for some reason they don’t want to comment.”

Trump expressed his preference for transparency from the federal government, suggesting they should be more forthcoming with information. “I think they’d be better off saying what it is,” he remarked, adding, “Our military knows, and our president knows, and for some reason they want to keep people in suspense. I can’t imagine it’s the enemy because if it was the enemy, they’d blast it out. Even if they were late, they’d blast it.”
When questioned about receiving intelligence briefings regarding the drones, Trump declined to comment. The mysterious drone sightings, which initially began in New Jersey, have spread to various locations along the East Coast, including Trump’s golf course in Bedminster. This proximity prompted Trump to reconsider his weekend plans, stating, “They’re very close to Bedminster. I think maybe I won’t spend the weekend in Bedminster.”
A video shared by podcast host Joe Rogan has sparked additional concerns. The footage, recorded by a military-grade aircraft company CEO, suggests the drones might be searching for radioactive material or gas leaks near ground level. “This is the first video about these drones that has got me genuinely concerned,” Rogan posted on X.

However, the White House has offered a different perspective. During a briefing, National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby stated that “many of the reported sightings are actually manned aircraft that are being operated lawfully.” He noted that despite using sophisticated electronic detection technologies, federal, state, and local authorities have been unable to verify the reported visual sightings.
The FBI and Department of Homeland Security have jointly stated they have found no evidence suggesting these reported drone sightings pose any national security or public safety threats, nor do they indicate foreign involvement. In their statement, they explained that many similar cases have historically turned out to be misidentified manned aircraft or facilities. The agencies are supporting local law enforcement in New Jersey with various detection methods but have yet to confirm any visual sightings through electronic detection.
