The identity of the liberal activist who gained internet notoriety after attempting to snatch a MAGA hat from a Trump supporter on a New York City subway has been revealed by the New York Post.
According to the publication, Alberta Testanero, 55, a dual Italian-American citizen living in Manhattan’s Murray Hill neighborhood, was the woman involved in the embarrassing incident. She works as a creative director for several high-end fashion brands, including Tiffany & Co., Coach, Bergdorf Goodman, and Kate Spade.
Prior to deleting her LinkedIn profile, Testanero portrayed herself as “an award-winning creative director, photo art director, and designer with over 20 years of experience in the industry.” She also highlighted her leadership capabilities, claiming to possess “a keen understanding of the relationship between corporate strategy and creative vision” while maintaining “the highest standards.”

The New York Post discovered what appears to be Testanero’s Facebook account, which revealed her support for the Obamas and Joe Biden, including shared content featuring an Obama family photo and friendship bracelets with “Joe” and “Barack” written on them.
A former colleague interviewed by the Post painted an unflattering picture of Testanero’s political evolution. “Testanero has gone off the deep end when it comes to politics,” the former colleague revealed to the Post. “She and I stopped being friends a while ago, as she became extremely liberal and very agitated.”
“I see nothing has changed, but now she’s gotten into the extreme, doing things like this,” the coworker added.
The March 19 incident, captured on video, showed Testanero confronting a Trump supporter on the subway, repeatedly calling him racist. “He’s a racist! If you voted for Trump, you are a racist!” she exclaimed.

The Trump supporter, who is a person of color, defended himself by asking, “How can I be racist?”
As the confrontation escalated, Testanero approached the man while pointing her finger at him. He responded by removing his MAGA hat to show it to her before attempting to exit the train. The situation took a turn when Testanero tried to grab his hat.
The incident concluded with both individuals leaving the train, with the man running to escape Testanero’s pursuit. As subway passengers watched and cheered, Testanero lost her balance and fell face-first onto the platform, creating what would become a viral internet moment.
