Khloe Kardashian expressed her frustration with Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’s handling of the ongoing wildfire crisis, joining other celebrities in criticizing the city’s leadership.

The reality TV star took to Instagram on Friday to voice her support for Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin Crowley, who revealed in a Fox 11 interview that the mayor had reportedly implemented significant budget cuts shortly before the fires began. According to Crowley, her previous requests for essential funds to repair firetrucks and fix hydrants went unheeded.

“I stand by YOU Chief Crowley!!!! You spoke the truth and you had tears in your eyes because I can tell you didn’t even want to say that but it was THE TRUTH!!!!” Kardashian shared on her Instagram Story, along with a clip from the interview. She added, “Thank you for being honest,” before declaring, “Mayor Bass you are a joke!!!!”

The criticism of Bass’s leadership extends beyond Kardashian, with actors Mel Gibson and James Woods also expressing their disapproval as the fires continue to devastate areas including Pacific Palisades, Malibu, and Altadena since Tuesday.

The Kardashian-Jenner family, including Kim, Kourtney, Rob, Kendall, Kylie, and matriarch Kris, were forced to evacuate their residences on Thursday when the Kenneth Fire spread across 1,000 acres near Calabasas. While evacuation orders have been lifted, their return status remains uncertain.

During this crisis, the family has shown support for emergency responders by providing meals from Carousel Restaurant to multiple fire stations throughout Los Angeles. Khloé shared their efforts on Instagram, writing, “My family and I wanted to feed a few firehouses today and we couldn’t think of a better restaurant to reach out to other than @carouselrestaurant. Our favorite Armenian restaurant! They whipped up hundreds of individual meals for so many firefighters, volunteers, first responders, and we could not be more thankful! Thank you for putting your lives on the line for all of us!”

While the Kardashian properties, including Kim’s newly acquired $70 million Malibu vacation home, have survived the fires, numerous celebrities have lost their homes. Paris Hilton’s Malibu residence was destroyed, along with properties belonging to Leighton Meester and Adam Brody, Miles and Keleigh Teller, Billy and Janice Crystal, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, Anna Faris, Eugene Levy, and Melissa Rivers.
