Jewish paper backs Trump, cites policies and Harris concerns

The Jewish Press, a prominent Jewish-American newspaper with significant influence among Orthodox communities, has officially thrown its support behind Donald Trump in the final stretch of the election campaign.

The publication deems voting for Trump “as close to a moral imperative as possible,” citing his policies as crucial for safeguarding Jewish interests against what they describe as the Democratic Party’s vision of a “socialist state” under Vice President Kamala Harris, characterized by “wokeism” and anti-Israel policies.

The editorial board of the paper emphasizes Trump’s impressive track record as the primary reason for their endorsement, particularly when compared to Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.

“Our clear choice for president is Donald Trump,” the Press stated, highlighting the former president’s strong support for policies aligned with Jewish interests, while portraying him as a vital counterbalance to Harris’s agenda.

The Press urged readers to consider whether they desired another four years of open borders, “selective” prosecution of political opponents, “out-of-control” transgender policies, rising energy costs, unchecked inflation, “economic wokeism,” cancel culture, reverse discrimination, equity over equality, rioting over ballots, appeasement of Iran, and disregard for law enforcement.

According to the paper, Harris has endorsed every decision made by the Biden administration, resulting in “soaring” inflation, “social upheaval” due to open borders, the “challenges of transgender issues,” and the “wokeism” that has transformed businesses from innovators and wealth creators into enforcers of restrictive social agendas.

“Can there be any other answer than ‘no’ to the now familiar election time query; ‘Are you better off now than you were four years ago?'” the Press inquired.

The Jewish Press editorial cautions readers to “be wary” of Harris’s potential plans for Israel if elected president, citing her support for conditioning U.S. military aid on Israeli policy changes and the notion that Israel is somehow guilty of “genocide” in Gaza.

The editorial also warns that Democratic control of the presidency and Congress under Harris could lead to Supreme Court “packing,” the end of the Senate filibuster, and policies that could reshape America along socialist lines, ushering in a “socialist state.”

“Can anyone really believe that Democratic control of the presidency, Senate and House would not result in the ‘packing’ of the Supreme Court to dilute conservative votes, the end of the Senate’s filibuster and its protection against the tyranny of the majority, and a new, even more precipitous lurch towards the long-feared socialist state than heretofore?” the Press questioned.

In contrast, the paper argues, “we have before us the indelible record of former President Donald Trump!”

“So, a vote for him is as close to being a moral imperative as we can get,” the Press concluded.

The publication’s endorsement of Trump is part of its broader effort to support candidates with strong pro-Israel records and solid backing for Jewish communities across federal, state, and local races, deeming it “crucial that Republicans retain control of the House and achieve a majority in the Senate.”

“It is astonishing to us how quickly the Democratic Party has veered to the extreme left and become very hostile towards Israel, with far too few exceptions to boot…,” the paper notes.

As one of the most influential voices in Jewish-American media, The Jewish Press boasts a substantial weekly print circulation and an extensive online readership, wielding significant influence among Jewish and conservative voters in New York and beyond.
