The House Ethics Committee took a confidential vote in December to disclose their findings on sexual misconduct allegations involving former Representative Matt Gaetz, according to CNN’s recent report.

The Florida Republican, who stepped down from Congress on November 13 following President-elect Donald Trump’s nomination of him as attorney general, later withdrew his nomination on November 21 amid Senate Republican concerns regarding these allegations.

The committee’s report is anticipated to become public before January concludes, though committee spokespersons have not yet responded to requests for comment from The Post.

Throughout his career, Gaetz has consistently denied accusations of sexual misconduct, including allegations involving a minor. He maintains these claims are politically motivated attacks, highlighting that the Department of Justice’s investigation into these matters did not result in any charges.

Earlier attempts to release the report faced opposition from House Republicans, with the Ethics Committee previously voting along party lines to withhold it. House Speaker Mike Johnson, a Republican from Louisiana, expressed his view that releasing the report would be inappropriate following Gaetz’s congressional departure.

The 42-year-old former congressman has since transitioned to a role as a host at the One America News Network.
