Cruz Warns Terrorist Attack On U.S. Is Only A Matter Of Time

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is warning that a terrorist attack in the United States is imminent. He made the remarks during his “Verdict” podcast with co-host Ben Ferguson as he reacted to reports that eight people with suspected ties to ISIS illegally entered the U.S. southern border and were in the country for a while before getting arrested in New York City, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia.

“This story is a big damn deal. We have eight suspected terrorists, with ISIS-K, who’ve been arrested. Now they came into this country illegally at our southern border. The Biden administration apprehended them, and then they let them go. They let terrorists go,” Cruz stated.

“And I’ve been saying for a long time, we are at a greater risk of a major terrorist attack in the United States right now than we have been any time since September 11,” he added.

Challenging Democrat lawmakers’ justification of President Joe Biden’s open border, Cruz said, “I’ve got 51 Democrat colleagues, how many of them in Capitol Hill are being asked, ‘Why does your party keep releasing terrorists into America? And why are you endangering the lives of American families across this country?’”

He then went on to suggest that Biden’s open policies might soon lead to a terrorist attack on U.S. soil.

According to the New York Post, which broke the story based on information from ICE, “part of the investigation featured a wiretap which revealed one of the now-arrested individuals was talking about bombs.”

Out of the eight foreign nationals with suspected tied to ISIS, two reportedly entered the U.S. last spring, with one of them said to have used CBP One, the Border Patrol app, to claim asylum.
