Angelina Jolie Says Israel Is Not Justified In Bombing Of Gaza

In a passionate Instagram post, actress Angelina Jolie expressed her concerns about the recent events in the Israel-Gaza conflict. The renowned actress first condemned the horrific terrorist attack by Hamas, which claimed the lives of over 1,400 Israelis, including many civilians.

Jolie, like many around the world, expressed her outrage at the senseless violence in Israel, where innocent civilians suffered the most. “Like millions around the world, I have spent the last weeks sick and angry at the terrorist attack in Israel, the death of so many innocent civilians, and wondering how best to help. I too, am praying for the immediate, safe return of every hostage, and for the families who carry the unimaginable pain of a murder of a loved one. Above all, the children murdered, and the many children now orphaned,” she said.

She then made a U-turn and condemned Israel for its retaliatory attack on Gaza. According to her, Hamas’ initial attack on Israel, which she admits is “an act of terror,” “cannot justify” its assault on Gaza.

She emphasized that the civilian population in Gaza, with no access to food, water, or escape routes, faces unimaginable hardships and is caught in the crossfire without “even the basic human right to cross a border to seek refuge.”

However, Jolie failed to mention that Israel set up humanitarian aid for Gazans in the south. But Hamas, who is using its own civilians as human shields, is frustrating the efforts, going as far as seizing their car keys in order to stop them from leaving the endangered region.

These remarks by Jolie came shortly after pop star Pink made a public plea for the release of hostages held by Hamas since its surprise invasion of Israel on Oct. 7. Pink outlined a ten-point plan on social media, condemning Hamas and those supporting the terrorist organization, and calling for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

Some of the calls in the list include, “The hostages need to come home,” “Hamas is a terrorist organization that seeks to destroy Jews…” and “Prejudice and acts of hate toward any one group is unacceptable.”
