The White House took a victory lap around the track Sunday after Congress sent the misnamed Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 to President Joe Biden’s desk.
The bill, which raises taxes and spending while weaponizing the IRS to go after American middle class taxpayers, does little or nothing to address inflation. At least it supports windmills and ends climate change.
No matter to the mainstream media, however, which hyperventilated while touting the suddenly reinvigorated Biden administration on Sunday talk shows. MSNBC’s Jonathan Capehart on “The Sunday Show” raved about the president’s highest approval rating in months.
It stands at 40%.
To further promote Biden’s “winning streak,” a clip was shown slamming Republicans for voting against the Inflation Reduction Act. Not one GOP member supported the boondoggle, which does nearly everything except what it is purported to do.
Even Sens. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) had to be jolted into remembering they are in fact Democrats for the measure to pass through Congress.
The act gives Medicare the ability to negotiate drug prices — starting in 2026. This is supposed to translate, when it happens, into lower health care costs. Meanwhile, taxes are raised on large businesses and hundreds of billions earmarked for supporting renewable energy.

That includes thousands of dollars in tax breaks for each new or used electric vehicle purchased.
And despite what the mainstream media is trying to spin into a positive, the Internal Revenue Service is about to be turned further against the American populace. One of the backbones of the act is to make the IRS so strong that it squeezes every possible dollar out of U.S. taxpayers.
Remember, this is the same president who blamed Russian President Vladimir Putin for rising gas prices that began virtually the day Biden took office last year. They have now declined somewhat, and he wants to be called back out on stage for an encore.
Also, the leftist media suddenly found within itself the ability to praise an administration for actually going after one of the nation’s enemies. Biden is now a hero for the CIA drone strike that killed al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri. Fair enough.
Former President Donald Trump, when the head of Iran’s infamous Revolutionary Guard was exterminated in Iraq, was vilified by the same media as a warmonger.
If Biden and his allies in the media want to take a victory lap, let them. The real victories await in November, and no amount of spin can wash away the damage Democrats have done to the nation despite rock-solid Republican opposition. That’s about to change.
