White House Press Secretary Makes Huge Denial About Biden’s Tax Hikes
(UnitedVoice.com) – President Joe Biden wants to raise taxes on households making over $400,000 a year and corporations in order to pay for his infrastructure plan. However, it doesn’t seem as though the administration has thought through all of the ways it could hurt families.
During a White House press briefing on Tuesday, April 13, a reporter asked Press Secretary Jen Psaki about how the tax hikes would impact people’s utility bills. The journalist wondered if the president is worried that companies could raise their prices to try to cover the corporate tax hike which would mean families are paying more, even if they aren’t making over $400,000 a year. The press secretary said Biden was not concerned about that and the administration is not anticipating it will be an issue later.

The reporter was asking a legitimate question. He pointed out that utility companies lowered their prices after the 2017 tax cuts in some cases, so it would stand to reason that they’d raise them to meet a tax hike. And if they do that, hardworking families will be impacted. Isn’t that something the president should be concerned about?
