Republican Governor Blasts News Program After Media Attack
(UnitedVoice.com) – On Sunday, April 4, long-time CBS news magazine, “60 Minutes,” ran a segment on Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) that can only be described as a hit piece. The show accused the governor of a pay-to-play scheme with Publix to exclusively distribute the COVID-19 vaccine after the grocery store chain donated to his campaign. The Republican is now blasting the show.
On Tuesday, DeSantis refuted the claims made by “60 Minutes” during an interview with Fox News. He said the program selectively edited a clip to “smear” him because he’s in the “other party than them.” The governor questioned why the show hasn’t attacked the governor of New York who’s embroiled in a number of scandals. He called the “partisan corporate media” reporter an “ambulance chaser.”
DeSantis is reportedly a strong candidate for the 2024 presidential election. Could the media be attacking him because he’s a threat to Democrats?
