In a powerful speech delivered at the Moms for Liberty Joyful Warriors Summit in Philadelphia, former President Donald Trump reaffirmed his commitment to protecting America’s children from harmful ideologies and promoting conservative values in education.
Addressing a conservative audience, the 2024 presidential aspirant emphasized his dedication to cutting federal funding for schools that promote Critical Race Theory (CRT) and gender ideology.

Trump, known for his strong stance on preserving traditional values, expressed his intent to sign a new executive order on his first day in office. This executive order would withhold federal funding from any school that pushes CRT, transgender ideology, or other inappropriate content onto children.
“On day one, I will sign a new executive order to cut federal funding for any school pushing Critical Race Theory, transgender insanity, and other inappropriate racial, sexual, or political content on our children,” he stated.
He went on to express the belief that education should be returned to the states, allowing local communities to have more control over their children’s education.
During his speech, Trump highlighted the dangers of radical ideologies infiltrating classrooms across the country.
“Under my leadership, the 1619 project, you remember that beauty, climate change extremists that are destroying our country… the ridiculous 87 different genders the left says there are out there, think of it, and…we’re going to cut it out. We’re going to get it out,” he stated, emphasizing that under his leadership, education would focus on the essential skills of reading, writing, and arithmetic, without the unnecessary distractions pushed by the left.
The former president argued that the promotion of Marxist, fascist, communist, and radical left-socialist ideas in classrooms posed a threat to religion.
Describing these ideologies as resembling an established religion of their own, Trump highlighted the dangerous cult-like movement which indoctrinates children by prioritizing drag shows over religious teachings and imbibes in them gender ideology instead of “teaching them to say their prayers.”
To combat these practices, Trump pledged to direct his administration’s Department of Justice to take legal action against schools that engage in what he considers to be “militant and country-destroying practices.”
He plans to use the “Establishment Clause and the Free Exercise Clause” of the Constitution as the legal basis for this pursuit.
Trump’s plan to cut federal funding for schools promoting harmful ideologies is part of a comprehensive plan for education reform, as he also intends to support the cancellation of teacher tenure for grades K-12 to remove ineffective educators, the adoption of merit-based pay to reward exceptional teachers and complete curriculum transparency.
The latter would grant parents the right to review 100 percent of the educational materials being taught to their children.
