The Hill is officially one of the dumbest media agencies pushing the Democrat narrative. They’re trying to suggest that the Russia and Ukraine conflict is somehow good for Republicans. Was it not good for Republicans when there were four years of peace during former President Donald Trump’s Administration?
Hill tweeted, “Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is a defining moment for the Republican Party (@TheHillOpinion) http://hill.cm/RGnlDgz.”
Conservatives are pretty divided on the issue. Ukraine isn’t a country that’s free of corruption in its government. Why do you think Hunter Biden was so closely tied to Burisma? Why do you think Biden has such ties to the Ukrainian government?
One of the first statements in the article says, “The Democrats’ path is clear: back Democratic President Joe Biden’s reaction. But it’s more challenging for Republicans, who don’t have a single leader in Washington.”
Sanctions on Russia for a pipeline that they should have never been allowed to control isn’t a lack of leadership. Biden has catered to Russia until this point, and he has stopped the United States’ oil independence, and we still import roughly 17,855,000 barrels of oil from Russia. Sanctions will make that stop in its tracks. The over 17 million barrels of oil make up roughly 7% of the oil imports in the US. Although it makes up 7% of the US imports, it makes up around twice that to supply the world at 12%. If 12% of the world’s oil stopped, we would be in a bad place for a while.
It’s still not clear how Republicans benefit from this.
The article also said that the Biden Administration, “seeking an easy way to restore the US-German relationship after the stresses of the Trump years, approved the pipeline’s completion in 2021, putting Germany in an even greater reliance on Russian natural gas supplies.”
Is The Hill aware that Russia immediately began slowing down natural gas exports to Europe when they got the green light for Nord Stream 2? Trump didn’t have good relations with Germany because he didn’t suck up to them. Germany giving Russia billions of dollars is a slap in the face to the US because of the cost of defending Germany from Russia!
Biden gave Americans confidence in his foreign relations with Russia.
On February 21, 2020, Biden tweeted, “Vladimir Putin doesn’t want me to be President. He doesn’t want me to be our nominee. If you’re wondering why, it’s because I’m the only person in this field who’s ever gone toe-to-toe with him.”
If Biden went toe to toe with Putin, he likely lost then. Biden’s inability to blame himself for not being tougher is embarrassing. The Hill is wrong, plain and simple.
