Ted Cruz Slams Democrat Reaction To Martha’s Vineyard ‘Millionaire Crisis’

The call by Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to send a plane with 48 illegal migrants who had been allowed to enter the Sunshine State by Joe Biden’s open borders policy to ultra-wealthy liberal enclave Martha’s Vineyard last week has forced the crisis into the public spotlight.

Several GOP lawmakers have taken the opportunity to point out the abject hypocrisy in the Democrat posture toward runaway illegal border crossings in Texas and Arizona as a result.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) appeared on the Friday broadcast of “Hannity” on Fox News and told host Sean Hannity that he agrees with Democratic governors and mayors that there is an ongoing illegal migration crisis. However, he added that it is “not just a crisis when it’s the millionaires who are inconvenienced.”

Cruz pointed out that the Biden administration and Democrats “did not think it was a humanitarian crisis when we pulled over 50 bodies in bodybags out of a truck in Texas of illegal immigrants who died because the smugglers let them die of heat exposure.”

In June, 53 illegal migrants perished near Lackland Air Force Base outside San Antonio when they were trapped inside a tractor-trailer without water or ventilation during sweltering temperatures. The deceased migrants came from Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras.

Cruz said that when fewer illegal migrants than died in that trailer show up “in lily-white Martha’s Vineyard, where rich liberals and billionaires sip Chardonnay, it is World War III.” He added that the reaction of the rich liberals there who immediately bussed the migrants, who reportedly said they were happy to be in Martha’s Vineyard, away to a military base far from their view “shows what utter nonsense it was.”

The Texas senator went on to say that the people who are truly paying the price for Biden’s border disaster are living in McAllen, Laredo, and Eagle Pass. He said that instead of changing course, Biden instead lies to the American people.

Cruz also hammered the corporate media. He said even they “don’t believe a word they said. Every word out of their mouth is a complete and utter lie.” He told Hannity that when Biden sends press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre out to claim that “nobody is crossing the border illegally, it’s a flat-out lie,” the press members “baa like sheep, and ignore the fact that she’s lying to the American people.”
