Kamala Goes Viral With Another Cringe ‘Word Salad’

Vice President Kamala Harris has once again gone viral for another one of her “word salad” speeches, this time in one of the worst moments possible — appearing in Highland Park, Illinois, in the aftermath of the horrific Independence Day Parade massacre.

Just one day after the mass shooting which left seven dead and more than 30 injured, the vice president visited the northern suburb of Chicago to meet with local law enforcement and make brief remarks to the mourning citizens of the town.

Speaking with the press and residents of Highland Park, Harris launched into another one of her “word salad” speeches, where she just rambles on, saying a bunch of buzz-words mixed in with nonsense while not actually expressing any coherent thought.

“We’ve got to take this stuff seriously, as seriously as you are because you have been forced to take this seriously,” Harris said.

“The whole nation should understand and have a level of empathy to understand that this could happen anywhere [to] any people in any community. And we should stand together and speak out about why it’s got to stop,” the vice president added before stepping away.

A clip of the short speech was shared by Chicago Tribune reporter Jake Sheridan, and it quickly went viral on social media as critics on both sides of the aisle mocked Harris as the “Word Salad Queen.”

“Oh okay,” Vulture features writer Rachel Handler responded.

“Seriously, @VP doesn’t know how to speak,” Mediaite writer Jackson Richman wrote.

“She is amazingly bad at this,” National Review contributor Pradheep J. Shanker reacted.

“Every new quote of hers makes less and less sense as a complete sentence,” sports editor Whitney McIntosh wrote.

“Okay, she did not always sound this incoherent when put on the spot, right? Am I misremembering? It’s getting Weird,” writer Ashley Reese similarly expressed.

“Ok, I give up. There ARE some jobs where you shouldn’t be allowed to drink on the clock,” screenwriter Josh Olson joked.

John Ashbrook, of the “Ruthless” podcast, poked fun at the visuals in the clip, tweeting, “Wearing the stoplight like a dunce cap.”

Harris has a long history of making bizarre remarks, which often leave her critics on social media either laughing at her expense, or even feeling uncomfortable as her comments are so cringeworthy.

During a speech in May at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit, Harris was roasted for repeating the phrase “work together” several times in an elongated sentence that had little to no actual meaning.

“Our world is more interconnected and interdependent. That is especially true when it comes to the climate crisis, which is why we will work together, and continue to work together, to address these issues, to tackle these challenges, and to work together as we continue to work operating from the new norms, rules, and agreements, that we will convene to work together on to galvanize global action. With that I thank you all. This is a matter of urgent priority for all of us and I know we will work on this together,” the vice president could be heard saying.

In another cringeworthy moment, Harris was asked during a radio interview to explain the Russia-Ukraine conflict in ‘layman’s terms.’ What the host was likely looking for was a simple description of the reasons behind Russia’s assertion that certain parts of Ukraine belong to Russia, etc, but the answer they got was definitely not what they expected.

“Ukraine is a country in Europe,” Harris explained slowly. “It exists next to another country called Russia. Russia is a bigger country. Russia decided to invade a smaller country called Ukraine, so basically, that’s wrong.”
