The Department of Justice (DOJ) investigation by a special council is supposed to be unbiased and not politically motivated. While President Biden said that he is not politicizing the DOJ, it certainly looks like he may do just that.
The attorney general of the United States, Merrick Garland, has appointed Jack Smith, as special prosecutor to investigate former President Donald Trump.
I’m excited to share that on May 6, @Netflix will release BECOMING, a documentary directed by Nadia Hallgren that shares the stories of the amazing people I met after the release of my memoir. During this difficult time, I hope you’ll find some inspiration and joy in this film. pic.twitter.com/fqsIbhXYeL

Attorney General Garland admitted that all humans are biased and that people are treated differently under the justice system. The special prosecutor, Jack Smith, appears to have connections to the Democrats and President Biden through his wife. This suggests something could already bias him against the target of his investigation, Donald Trump.
Smith’s wife, Katy Chevigny, is a documentary film producer. She produced a film, “Becoming, “for Michelle Obama’s book promotion. She also donated $2,000 to Biden’s presidential campaign.
Former president Donald Trump has criticized the justice department more than once for being biased against him. With the appointment of the special counsel, Trump said “I have been going through this for six years — for six years I have been going through this, and I am not going to go through it anymore,”
The former president also stated that the investigations against him have continued over the past six years and have not found him guilty of anything illegal.
