Biden Promises US Will Always Back Ukraine

The U.S. will provide Ukraine support in its fight against Russia for “as long as it takes,” Biden pledged Tuesday night, promising indefinite American resources for Kyiv as the battle rages on for year number two with little indications of peace to come.

While speaking about the state of the union during his recent speech, Biden proclaimed the U.S. and its Western allies have teamed up to oppose Russian President Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine, saying the situation is a “test for the ages.”

“I spoke from this chamber one year ago, just days after Vladimir Putin unleashed his brutal war against Ukraine. A murderous assault, evoking images of the death and destruction Europe suffered in World War II,” stated Biden. “Putin’s invasion has been a test for the ages. A test for America. A test for the world. Would we stand for the most basic of principles? Would we stand for sovereignty?”

“One year later, we know the answer. Yes, we would. And we did,” he continued. “Together, we did what America always does at our best. We led.”

Joining Biden’s Tuesday night speech was Ukrainian Ambassador Oksana Markarova, who Biden spoke to directly as he promised American backing for the eastern nation.

“Ambassador, we’re united in our support for your country,” he said. “We’re going to stand with you, as long as it takes.”

Biden seemingly attempted to say Markarova’s name during the speech, only to stumble on his words, saying, “Ambassador… eheherzah-our ambassador is here.”

Some politicians on the other side of the aisle agree with Joe Biden’s strong and unabashed support for Ukraine. Fox News host Tucker Carlson recently discussed this on his show, accusing Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham (SC) of believing that it is more important to protect the border of Ukraine than that of the United States.

Carlson played a clip on his show that featured Graham speaking on foreign policy, with the South Carolina senator advocating for the United States to send Ukraine tanks, long-range rockets, and other weapons that could assist the country in its fight against Russia.
