The Biden folks are in such chaos, they can never seem to get their stories straight.
After the terrible job numbers came out at the end of last week, the Biden regime spent the last few days denying that there was an issue. Biden even claimed that the report was “more evidence our economy is moving in the right direction.” If the “right” direction is in a bad direction, he might be right, otherwise, not so much. Biden’s Chief of Staff Ron Klain even retweeted arguments that the relief bill hadn’t spent enough, that they needed to spend more.
But as we explained, one of the problems is that extended unemployment benefits from the federal government because of the relief bill are a factor for why some of the people are not getting back into the workforce. Businesses have jobs open but they’re finding real trouble in hiring people. Another is that with a lot of schools still not open, mothers aren’t able to go back into the workforce.
So they seemingly sent Biden out to make the case today that unemployment wasn’t a big factor. Instead, he seemed to get completely confused and said the exact opposite.

“I know there’s been a lot of discussion since Friday, since Friday’s report, that people are being paid to stay home rather than go to work. We don’t see much evidence of that,” Biden claims, completely failing to get the reality of the situation. But then in the next second, he says the exact opposite. “That is a major factor.” “We don’t see that..Look,” he says, as he completely loses what he’s supposed to say and tries to fill in with something. “It’s easy to say, the line has been, because of the generous unemployment benefits, that it’s a major factor in labor shortages,” he continues. It’s easy to say because it’s true.
When you’ve been sent out to read something and don’t understand what you are trying to say, it comes out a mess like that. It shows his confusion, not just about what he’s supposed to say but on the greater false point that he’s trying to make.
Indeed, as we can see from a longer clip, Biden essentially admitted that the benefits were a factor, by saying “anyone collecting unemployment who is offered a suitable job must take the job or lose their unemployment benefits,” and saying they were going to hold people to that.

Well, if unemployment benefits weren’t actually a factor, as Biden claimed, he wouldn’t have the need to say that. He’s basically giving away the game with this.
The economy was coming back, things were opening up again. All Biden had to do was not screw with what was already happening. But he couldn’t even do it. Now, not only are jobs suffering but inflation is hitting, with prices rising. Let’s hope that Biden isn’t the next Jimmy Carter. Because right now, he surely sounds as clueless.
