According to Mark Levin, a conservative talk radio personality, the federal government uses its authority to intimidate and suppress American individuals. He argues that they’re attempting to stifle the free speech of the Justice Department’s efforts to restrict freedom of expression.
The US Department of Justice has been accused of utilizing the full power of federal law enforcement resources to prohibit parents from enjoying constitutionally protected rights and privileges for improper partisan objectives. The letter was issued to the US Inspector General by the nonprofit group America First Legal.
The AFL-CIO claims that the American Federation of Teachers, the National Education Association, and others have banded together to “oppress, threaten, and intimidate parents.” According to the union, high-ranking officials in the Biden White House staff and the Department of Justice allegedly conspired to devise a plan to chill, dissuade, and discourage parents from using their constitutional rights and privileges.
According to the AFL-CIO, the Biden administration was fully aware of the political implications of parent mobilization at school board meetings and organizing around school problems in the upcoming midterm elections. What was this “outside group” you’re referring to? The National School Boards Association (NSBA) recalls their September 29 letter, in which they referred to America’s concerned parents as “domestic terrorists.”
The short time between the September 29 letter and the Attorney General’s Memorandum implies that the entire affair was pre-planned or that the usual clearance procedure and standard order were circumvented or tampered with. According to the AFL, the short time it took for the AG’s memorandum to be drafted and made public after the NSBA’s letter was submitted to Biden is also suspicious.
The American Federation of Teachers (AFT) claims it got a White House training on talking about “equity” efforts, avoiding responsibility for breaching discrimination laws, and keeping measures out of the public eye under the Freedom of Information Act. According to the AFL-CIO, the briefing was part of a follow-up call on October 5 that included a Biden political appointee in the Civil Rights Division and other Biden Administration officials.
The NSBA letter and AG’s memorandum were suspect from the start, and it’s still unclear who was involved. If the Biden administration used regular protocols and legal practices to weaponize the federal government to intimidate and silence the American people, an inquiry should be launched right once. There is still a hope that the Department of Justice still has at least one trustworthy Inspector General who will take up this matter. According to the reporters, America is watching Michael E. Horowitz.
