Alexander Vindman ‘Blames’ Trump For Ukraine’s Invasion By Russia

According to the reports, Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman spoke with VICE News about President Trump’s “great phone chat” with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He claims he was offered the role of Ukraine’s Defense Minister, but a former top National Security Officer told ABC News that the offer was “a joke.” The man who attempted to impeach Trump blamed the former President for Ukraine’s current condition.

According to a former US official, Republican legislators’ “attacks on our democracy” pushed Russian President Vladimir Putin to launch a military invasion of Ukraine. Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, a retired military officer, is crucial to President Trump’s first impeachment trial. He cited a tweet from Rep. Elise Stefanik, who blamed President Biden’s “poor foreign policy” for Moscow’s assault.

“Putin is to blame for this conflict, but they deserve a large share of the blame,” he wrote to Russia’s President. Moreover, The Ukrainian-American critic contended that the United States could have done so much more to assist Ukraine in the run-up to the Russian assault.

“While issuing maximalist demands and closing diplomatic off-ramps, the Kremlin beefed up Russian soldiers around Ukraine’s borders,” he says. According to him, the Biden Administration gradually raised the alarm about the Kremlin’s expected course of action. Long-term geopolitical dynamics, such as Ukraine’s decisive tilt to the West and Russia’s irredentism, Vindman said, set the outlines of war.

Vindman rose to national prominence in the run-up to the 2020 presidential election after testifying about a phone call in which Trump floated to Ukraine’s President a deal involving the exchange of US military aid in exchange for an investigation into then-Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden and his ties to Ukrainian businesses.
