36 Cuban Migrants Apprehended and Expelled

Under President Joe Biden, the coast guard sent 2,464 Cubans back to their country since October 2021 when they were apprehended trying to enter the United States.

The most recent apprehension involved a boat carrying 36 people. The boat had far too many passengers on board and the risk was overwhelming.

Lieutenant Paul Benyovszky with the Coast Guard said, “Our crews work tirelessly to ensure the South Florida Strait remains safe. These migration attempts are inherently dangerous and these men, women, and children are taking a great risk attempting to navigate unpredictable seas in unsafe, overloaded, rustic vessels.”

Compared to former President Donald Trump, Biden, and then-President Barack Obama, sent back far more Cuban immigrants.

In 2016, there were 5,396 Cubans sent back to Cuba compared to 2,089 during Trump’s entire presidency.

Last July, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas told Cuban immigrants, “Allow me to be clear: If you take to the sea, you will not come to the United States.” At the time, mass riots were happening in Cuba and citizens were denouncing the Communist leadership.

The difference is staggering and the Biden administration seems to be strategically allowing mass migration at the southern border but stopping migration from Cuba.

Of the Cubans that are presently in the U.S., 60% of them vote Republican. That’s a vast difference from the migrants coming across the southern border.

PewResearch reported, “Nationwide, 58% of Cuban registered voters say they affiliate with or lean toward the Republican Party, while 38% identify with the Democratic Party or lean Democratic.”

For Hispanic voters, PewResearch reported that 66% voted for Hilary Clinton in 2016 and 72% voted Democrat in 2018. It’s a no-brainer why Cubans aren’t allowed in and the southern border has a record number of crossings. Out of the 234,088 migrants encountered in April 2022, almost 97,000 were removed under Title 42 and more than 110,000 were released into the U.S.

The double standard from Democrat administrations is clear. They send a message to illegal immigrants; Vote for us, you get in… don’t vote for us, get sent back to the country you came from.
